Children Learning

Kochi Konther Asar teaches children art and music, computer literacy and English — courses that run among the organization’s ongoing projects. Alongside them stand the schools and the arts academy that belong to its history, and the International Schools Initiative, a set of partnerships with institutions abroad.

The ongoing courses

These courses are part of the organization’s ongoing work for children.

Art & Music Training Courses give professional instruction in fine arts and in vocal and instrumental music.

The Computer Literacy Program teaches children basic-to-intermediate digital skills.

The English Language Development Course trains English proficiency for educational and professional development.

Acting & Drama Courses run alongside these. The organization delivers them as workshops, and they are described on the Workshops page.

The Lalit Kala Academy

The Kochi Kontho Lalit Kala Academy graduated students in music and the performing arts, and many prominent artists came from that school and were active members of Kochi Kontho.

The Academy belongs to the organization’s history — part of what it has built and run over the decades, rather than one of the courses above.

The schools in the organization’s history

Over its history the organization established Pothokoli Schools in all 64 districts of Bangladesh, with the Kochi Kontho International School and the Kochi Kontho Model School alongside them — a measure of what has been built across five decades of work for children.

The International Schools Initiative

The Kochi Kontho International Residential Schools are an Initiative — one of the organization’s long-running institutional efforts, and the one listed elsewhere on this site as International Schools: partnerships with international-standard institutions, globally ranked universities, performing arts academies and accredited rehabilitation centers.
