The work, step by step
Kochi Konther Asar has played a significant role in advocating for children’s rights since 1976.
The work runs from protection against trafficking and child labour to education, healthcare and rehabilitation.
Shishu Nibash, the Kochi Kontho children’s home, offers residential support for orphaned, homeless or vulnerable children.
In the organization’s own words: “Our orphanage Kochi Kontho Shishu Nibash still houses many orphans.”
The organization convened a National Seminar on Children’s Rights and child-friendly legal practice.
It convened a Global Children’s Conference on Child Casualties in Wars — children and experts discussing war’s impact.
The organization integrates counselling and therapeutic support for children affected by trauma, abuse or loss.
It also partners with accredited rehabilitation centers through the Kochi Kontho International Schools Initiative.
