Every child empowered through education, protected from exploitation

The organization works to close educational, health and social gaps, to foster children’s talent, and to amplify their voices.
How the work is done

The work, step by step

01
Free schools and learning centers

The organization operates free primary and secondary schools across Bangladesh, especially in underserved communities.

Pothokoli Schools for street children have been established in all 64 districts of Bangladesh over the organization’s history.

02
Academic support and tutoring

Children in the United States and Bangladesh take after-school classes in literacy, mathematics and English.

Completed work includes an Educational Support Program for Underprivileged Children in Gopalganj.

03
Performing arts and cultural education

Music, dance, visual arts and storytelling enrich the teaching, fostering creativity and building confidence in every child.

The Lalit Kala Academy has graduated students in music and performing arts — prominent artists among them.

04
Education for street, working and displaced children

Mobile educators and volunteers bring basic literacy and life skills to street children, working children and those in refugee areas.

05
Digital learning and media literacy

Through the Children’s Voice Publication and the World Children’s Media Channel, children learn journalism and media work.

Both are Initiatives: the magazine, and Kochi Kontho World — a channel on YouTube, Facebook and its own portal.
